The Law Of Gestation

Tremendous value is given to us by learning from the laws of nature. As the laws are a part of the planet, taking lessons from them into our own lives is a blessing. The Law of Gestation, which is always present in Nature, is a formidable teacher.

In the age of technology, we have become accustomed to instant gratification. Anyone can instantly escape by turning on the TV. A click of a button and one is transported to another world. Everything, up to instant celebrity status happens now through the technology we have available to us. Short of instant gratification being sold in lucky packets, it is available everywhere.

Whilst progress is great, what this age had done on a psychological level is magnified the expectation of instantaneous results. However, in the true essence of life, we know that nothing happens in this instant. Thinking of an exotic location does not simply make anyone appear there, Sylvania octron although having that ability would be awesome!

The experience of life on Earth is meant to be spectacular and part of that beauty is the process of gestation. We know that planting a tree today does not result in a gigantic tree the next day. After a variable stretch and an amount of care, nurturing and love, the tree will grow. The process of gestation must occur. That is the law, unchangeable, carved in stone! Questioning or even trying to change this fact removes the natural flow of life.

Similarly, when a child is conceived, a woman does not give birth the next day. Thank goodness. There is a gestation period because many factors need to happen before both child and parents are ready for it. Butterflies don't become butterflies until they have fully metamorphosed, a flower isn't born a flower. Even thunderstorms don't just happen! There is a process behind the majesty and power of the rain, lightning and thunder.

Having learnt and observed this, we can be sure that there will always be a gestation period when it comes to ourselves, our dreams and deepest desires. Rather than believing it to be a "waiting period", gestation implies time for growth, process and then readiness! So it is a wonderful, magical and adventurous period. Don't be deterred if you aren't there yet. Take some time to look at which part of the gestation period is occurring in your life.

The humbling truth is that there is always something happening behind the scenes and even though it might escape our awareness, much comfort can be found in believing that what we do not see happening is often for our greatest good. What may seem like a frustration could be the greatest blessing. Life does not have to make sense all at the same time. What we may not understand today, we will understand later.

There is a right time for everything. When the time has come for something to happen, there is nothing that can ever stop it. What is yours will be yours. Practice patience and unfold with the process because, nothing is as sweet as a fruit that is truly ripe.
